Introducing Yourself and Your Writing

In this first blog discussion of the semester, take a moment to introduce yourself to your classmates and your professor.

First, tell us a little bit about yourself in general—whatever you are comfortable with sharing. For example, you might tell us your major, where you live, what hobbies you have, if you have children, if you have pets, what you do for work, what you plan to do once you finish your degree, etc. 

Then, tell us about who you are as a writer. For example, you might discuss one or more of these issues:

• Do you enjoy writing of any kind (for work, personal, academic, creative)? What do you like about it?
• Do you dislike writing? Why?
• Do you consider yourself a competent writer?
• What do you hope to accomplish in this class?
