Finding Sources and Developing a Preliminary Thesis

For this week’s Discussion, post a substantial comment that includes the following:

1. A list, in APA citation style (use the guide from the Purdue OWL or the Excelsior Online Writing Lab, found in Required Readings) of the five relevant, peer-reviewed sources you found;
2. Two to three possible thesis statements you could forward based on these sources;
3. A discussion of which of the three possible thesis statements you are most interested in pursuing and why. Why will this thesis statement be effective as the focus of a research paper?  

After you have submitted your initial post as a comment, read and respond to the posts of at least two other students. Within your responses, offer feedback about the proposed thesis statements. Which one do you find the most compelling (and why)? Which one do you think the students should use for their project (and why)? What other advice do you have for the students as they work on choosing a thesis statement for their projects?
